Book Clubs
The church offers a daytime and evening book club that is open to anyone in the community who is interested. All are welcome at both clubs whether you have read the book or not. Each of our book clubs provides fellowship, the opportunity to explore different types of literature and great discussions! The books are selected on a rotating basis by those who attend and the person who selects the book usually provides the refreshments for that meeting. If you would like to talk to someone or want more information about either club contact Dot Bamper at 973-697-2877 or email her by clicking on her name here: Dot
The Good Books Lunch Group
First Thursday of the Month at 12:30
THE GOOD BOOKS LUNCH BUNCH At our February meeting we will be discussing “Pictures of You” by Caroline Leavitt. Two women running away from their marriages collide on a foggy highway, killing one of them. The survivor, Isabelle, is left to pick up the pieces, not only of her own life, but of the lives of the devastated husband and fragile son that the other woman, April, has left behind. Together, they try to solve the mystery of where April was running to, and why. As these three lives intersect, the book asks, How well do we really know those we love—and how do we forgive the unforgivable? If you enjoy reading and pleasant fellowship, consider picking up a book and joining us. All you need to bring is a bag lunch, dessert and beverages will be provided.
The Evening Books Group
First Tuesday of the Month at 7 pm
THE EVENING BOOKS GROUP The Evening Book Club’s selection for February is “The Likeness” by Tana French who astonished critics and readers alike with her mesmerizing debut novel, In the Woods. Now both French and Detective Cassie Maddox return to unravel a case even more sinister and enigmatic than the first. Six months after the events of In the Woods, an urgent telephone call beckons Cassie to a grisly crime scene. The victim looks exactly like Cassie and carries ID identifying herself as Alexandra Madison, an alias Cassie once used. Suddenly, Cassie must discover not only who killed this girl, but, more importantly, who is this girl? All are welcome to join us on February 7th at 7:30pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
